How the Commission Process Works
Commissioning a piece of art through Mar Beaux Arts is a simple, collaborative, and deeply personal experience. Fill out the form below with as much detail as you like — the more you share, the closer the final artwork will be to your vision. Once your request is received, we will get in touch through your preferred contact method — Email, Phone Call, or Video Call — to discuss the details, confirm the scope, and begin bringing your idea to life.
Every commission is treated as a unique creative partnership, where your story, taste, and intentions shape every brushstroke and artistic decision. Whether you are ordering a custom original or a reproduction of a beloved portfolio piece, we are committed to delivering a work of art that exceeds your expectations and feels truly yours. From the first message to the final delivery, you are part of the process every step of the way.
Type of Artwork
Original Commission — a brand new custom piece built around your concept
Reproduction from the Portfolio — a faithful reproduction of an existing work on your chosen material: Fine Art Paper (11×11 or 11×14 in) or Canvas Print (up to 24 inches) or other.
Custom Commission Details
Share your vision — style (Naïve Art, Figurative, Landscape, Surreal, etc.), preferred color palette, subject or theme, and any personal symbolism or inspirations you’d like included.
Let us know your ideal delivery date if you have one, and use the Additional Notes field to share anything else — references, questions, or the story behind your piece.
The Commission Process

Consultation
Free meeting — at your home, by phone, or via video. We discuss size, colours, style & composition. A firm quote follows, valid for 6 months.

Booking & Deposit
A 25% deposit secures your spot and covers materials when you are ready to move forward.

Progress Updates
Throughout the creative process I share photos so you can follow the journey and suggest any minor adjustments.

Studio Preview
As the painting nears completion, you are invited to my studio for a private viewing and any final touches.

Delivery & Installation
Local clients enjoy free delivery and personal installation — I will hang the painting in your space at no extra cost!

The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the piece, and will be discussed and agreed upon during your free consultation. I will always keep you informed of progress along the way.
Can I request changes after the painting has started?
Minor adjustments are always welcome — that’s what the progress photo updates are for! Major changes may affect the timeline and quote, which we will discuss openly and transparently.
Why is there a 20% customization fee?
Custom commissions require additional time for consultations, tailored design, and detailed communication. The 20% fee covers this extra creative investment to ensure your piece is perfectly crafted to your vision.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Shipping is available internationally. Delivery costs will be calculated individually and included in your final quote. Local clients in Baton Rouge and New Orleans enjoy free delivery and personal installation.
What styles and subjects do you paint?
I specialise in Naïve Art, Figurative portraits and silhouettes, Landscapes with charming houses, and Surreal still lifes. Each piece is crafted with boldness, texture, and emotion. If you have something unique in mind, let’s talk — I love a creative challenge!

Not at all — it is entirely optional but warmly encouraged! The studio preview is a wonderful opportunity to see your artwork in person before it is delivered and to request any final refinements.
